Shuls
Carmei Zion
Rabbi Aminadav Grossman leads Carmei Zion, a National Religious Ashkenazi community, established in 2017. People attend from all over Carmei Gat. There are minyanim every weekday and Shabbat. There are also regular children's services, shiurim, and social activities. September 2025, Carmei Zion broke ground on a new, large, beautiful permanent building in the 03 neighborhood. There are just over 200 member families as of September 2025. Annual membership is about 900 nis.
Nechalim
Rabbi Ari Posner leads Nehalim, an Ashkenazi family-oriented community, established in 2025. Members are mostly English-speaking families who live in the 01 neighborhood. There are about 30 member families as of September 2025. Annual membership is about 200 nis.
Happy Minyan
This Karlebach-style minyan does not have established leadership or a membership fee. It takes place on Friday nights only, in members' homes in the 02 neighborhood. There are about 20 men who attend regularly as of September 2025. It does not have a mechitza, as for the most part, only men attend.
Kehilat Shalem
Kehilat Shalem is a partnership minyan: a religiously open-minded community committed to fostering a pluralistic and progressive future. As a reflection of the core beliefs, women both participate and lead services within the framework of halacha. They previously davened, on Shabbat only, in schools in the 02 and 03 neighborhoods. As of September 2025 they no longer meet regularly.
Minyan Meshulav
Minyan Meshulav does not have established leadership or a membership fee. It is hosted by different families every other Shabbat in the 07 neighborhood. Emphasis is on davening both Ashkenazi and Sephardi nusach within a single minyan and involving the youth in leading roles as much as possible. There are about 30 regular attendees.
Yachad
Rabbi Eitan Klinger leads Yachad, established around 2023, is a more Israeli crowd than the other minyanim but many English-speakers are part of the community. They daven both Ashkenazi and Sephardi nusach, in a small, permanent building in the 01 neighborhood. There are over 100 member families. Annual membership is about 500 nis.
Schools
There are a number of religious and secular elementary schools in Carmei Gat. Some are just starting out and don't go all the way through 6th grade yet. There is one religious girls' high school and one secular high school (no religious boys' high school yet). Some families in the community send their kids to schools outside Carmei Gat, including Kiryat Gat and the surrounding yishuvim.
Bnei Akiva
Bnei Akiva is currently the only active youth group in Carmei Gat. The branch is located in a caravan at Avigail HaCarmalit 7 and includes activities almost every Shabbat and once during the week, as well as seasonal regular hikes and overnight camps, for grades 3-12.
Parks
There are new parks popping up all the time! Here are some of the most popular parks and playgrounds as of late 2025. (There are also a few dog parks.)
